Introduction to Engineering and Managing Agent Harnesses
The model gets the attention, but if you run coding agents seriously, most of your leverage sits in everything around it. There's a growing name for this work, harness engineering, and it's young enough that almost nothing you build is portable between tools. This is an introduction to the territory, organized around one distinction: the kernel harness the vendor ships versus the userspace harness you build on top.
